30-PAUL’S RENTED HOUSE IN ROME

1. Read verse 16. Describe the last lap of Paul’s journey to Rome. (13-16) What was Paul’s situation as a prisoner in Rome? (16,30) How can we see God’s sovereign hand working in this?

2. Read verses 17-20. Who were the first people Paul contacted in Rome? How did he describe his arrest and his presence in Rome? What does he mean by saying, “It is because of the hope of Israel that I am bound with this chain?” What is the hope of Israel? (20, 26:6)

3. Read verses 21-24. What was the initial response of the Jews? What did Paul talk to them about? What was the source of his teaching?

4. Read verses 25-29. What was the response of the Jews of Rome? What final statement did Paul make to explain Jewish rejection? What did Paul discover about how God wanted to work in Rome? (28)

5. What did Paul do to participate in what God was doing in Rome? (30-31)
